CLEVELAND – With Memorial Day being a big cooking-out holiday, Food Network is offerings foodies a way to get in the culinary mood today. A trio of “Symon’s Dinners Cooking Out” episodes will air, featuring chef Michel Symon.
When does ‘Symon’s Dinners Cooking Out′ air?
“Symon’s Dinners Cooking Out″ airs on Food Network this Saturday, May 29.
Three episodes of the show – which features Symon in his yard, grilling and offering tips – are on tap. “Steak Out” – Season 2, Episode 1 – will air at noon, with the Cleveland-born chef guiding viewers on his fire pit steak and potatoes. (Spoiler: He will finish the steak by throwing it right onto hot coals.) Symon’s wife, Liz, will join in as the couple also will make miso chocolate cake and a frozen Old Fashioned cocktail.
If you can’t wait until noon, the network will air two first-season episodes:
“Grilled Steak and Potatoes the Symon Way” (9 a.m. Saturday, May 29, Season 1, Episode 5), has Symon showing simple techniques for grilling skirt steak. He fires up a cast-iron skillet for sticky barbecue onions with brown sugar, Dijon mustard, cayenne and cumin, and also makes cheesy hash-brown potatoes.
“Clambake on the Grill” (9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 29, Season 1, Episode 13) focuses on a summertime seafood meal. Symon will steam foil packets of clams with sausage and peppers over coals. For dessert, Liz jumps in with peaches with mascarpone and honey, and they wash it down with Rose Sangria.
