Ingredient Notes

  • Milk Chocolate – Use milk chocolate chips or break up a chocolate bar.
  • White Chocolate – Look for the melting chocolate or white chocolate bark in the baking aisle.
  • Candy Eyes – Candy eyes are edible and fun. Substitute round candies such as M&Ms if candy eyes aren’t available.
  • Pretzels – Use straight pretzel sticks or break whole pretzels into pieces.
  • Orange candy or fondant – For making the carrot nose of the snowman. Orange sprinkles are perfect for this!
  • Edible pen – For drawing on any additional details.

Pro Tips

  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler.
  • Layer with milk chocolate first, then top with white candy melts.
  • Draw the faces onto the candy melts before you melt the milk chocolate so you can move quickly before the chocolate hardens.
  • Place the parchment paper on a baking sheet to easily transfer it to the fridge for cooling.
  • Gently score the chocolate with the tip of a sharp knife to control where the breaks occur.
  • Break the chocolate into pieces when it cooled and hardened completely.
  • Don’t try to keep the snowmen whole when breaking into pieces.

Delicious Variations

  • Swap The Chocolate – Use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate if preferred. You could also use all white chocolate.
  • Use Other Candy – Peanut butter cups for hats, M&Ms, Skittles, or Red Hots for buttons on the snowman. When designing these fun melted snowman bark treats, only your imagination can stop you.
  • Add Peppermint – Make these melted bark snowmen minty fresh by adding a peppermint extract to the melted chocolate or decorating with crushed candy canes.

FAQs

Do I Need To Temper The Chocolate?

Tempering is a process that makes chocolate ideal for melting and makes the result glossy and smooth. Tempering is not necessary for this recipe.

How Long Will Melted Chocolate Bark Snowman Last?

These candy treats will last 2-3 weeks, so they are the perfect make-ahead holiday candy. Store in an airtight container for the best results.

Why Is My Chocolate Bark Soft?

If your chocolate bark hasn’t hardened in an hour, it could be that your room temperature is warm enough to keep the bark slightly soft. Store the melted snowmen in an airtight container in the fridge to keep them firm.
