EVANSVILLE, Ind. — We’re bringing you Tri-State restaurant happenings and food news you need to know. Here’s the latest.

Bubba’s 33 will be opening on Monday, April 18 at 4 p.m. Bubba’s serves casual fare such as pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and salads and has a full bar.The restaurant will begin serving lunch on Monday, June 20.

Bubba’s 33 is at 1 N. Burkhardt Road at the intersection with Lloyd Expressway; 812-901-6409.

The Henderson Professional Firefighters Honor Guard will be cooking whole grilled chickens on Wednesday, April 13. Pickup is at the Denton shelter on Elm Street in Atkinson Park from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Chickens are $10 each. Funds will be used to assist families of fallen firefighters, honor guard training, equipment and uniforms. Purchase chickens here or at Fire Station 1 at 332 Washington St., in Henderson, Kentucky.

Kabob Xpress will be open special hours during the month of Ramadan, which lasts until Monday, May 2. The restaurant will be closed on Sunday and Monday, and open normal hours of 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The menu features Mediterranean favorites such as hummus and stuffed grape leaves, falafel, kabobs, shawarma, fresh naan bread and much more.

Pangea Kitchen will host a special limited seating world cuisine dinner on Tuesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. The five-course meal will include chicken and avocado stuffed arepas or plantain cups with ceviche, smoked mushrooms and stracciatella cheese on toast points, Thai snapper in tom yum broth, charred flank steak with Asian chimichurri sauce and Japanese cheesecake with miso butterscotch.
