Restaurant serving ‘best steak in Liverpool’ is closing down
A restaurant people have called the “best in Liverpool” has confirmed it’s closing.
The venue confirmed the news on social media saying it was being announced with “immense sadness” and said the closure was due to the “current climate”.
The team at Berrington’s, on Smithdown Place, in south Liverpool thanked customers as it explained it will close next month. The venue, where food is cooked over oak wood flames, opened in 2020, replacing Neon Jamon.

The owners confirmed they have a new restaurant lined up to take its place. Sharing the news on Instagram, Berrington’s told followers: “It is with immense sadness that we announce the imminent closure of Berrington’s.
“Our final day of trading will be Sunday June 12 and we want to say a huge thank you to all our regular customers who have dined with us since our opening in May 2020. Unfortunately the current climate does not allow for us to continue this style of menu and cooking in the suburbs, but fear not, we have a new restaurant lined up to take its place
“Look out for more news over the next few weeks, in the meantime get yourself booked in for one last wood smoked dinner or Sunday roast! All Berrington’s vouchers will continue to be redeemable in any of our sister restaurants or pubs.”
