A new Japanese Korean restaurant serving everything from katsu curry to gyoza dumplings is set to open in Arndale’s new food quarter, Halle Place.

Famed for its quality Korean and Japanese food, Kokoro will open between the Doner Shack and Electric Gamebox in the city centre shopping centre. The simple favourites and wide variety of options served at Kokoro are what bring the customers back, time and time again.

Kokoro already has restaurants all over the country, but this is the company’s first step into Manchester. The new restaurant will be Kokoro’s 51st in the U.K, having already made a name for itself in Liverpool, Leeds and London.

Kokoro translates to ‘heart’ or ‘soul’, so it is fitting for the restaurant to have found itself it’s new home in the heart of Manchester’s shopping district. The small space will host a few tables, but most people will order to takeaway.

The menu offers a both hot and cold Japanese and Korean dishes. Hot dishes including sweet and sour chicken udon noodles and yakisoba. While the cold food offers sushi sets and poke bowls.

While it has not been confirmed when the new restaurant will open, the hoardings are already up in the Arndale’s £11m Halle Place and it has been confirmed by a representative that it won’t be open for a few months. Here, Kokoro will join the likes of Archie’s, Barburrito, Wolf Italian Street Food and more.

Kokoro opened their first restaurant in Kingston upon Thames in 2010 and over the last decade, the company has gone from strength to strength and now Kokoro can be found in many cities across the country.
